Crochet Plant Mat Pattern
Calling all plant lovers!!! This pattern is for you! Recently I have started expanding my plant collection, I think it has something to do with our oldest graduating, and needing something new to ‘take care of’?!? However, its such a rewarding side hobby, and of course I also had to tie in crochet! I whipped up a little crochet plant mat and just love look and pop it gives my plant babies!

Plant Mat Coaster
The Aurea Crochet Plant Mat is a quick and easy make with a beautiful lacy design, adding some colour and elegance to your decor, with just a touch of nostalgia.
The pattern is worked back and forth in rows with an easy repeat using double crochet. Adding or subtracting rows allows you to customize the length for any size area or plants.
I chose to use *WeCrochet’s *Dishie yarn for the greta colour selection and durability. Using cotton will also help if you happen to get any water on it as it is very absorbant.

My testers did awesome making the Aurea Plant Mat, they turned out beautifully and they let their inspiration guide them with some of the finishing touches!

Materials
- Approx. 60 – 80 yards of #4 worsted weight cotton yarn. I used *Knit Picks Dishie in Mint
- US size H/8 – 5.0mm crochet hook. I used my *Furls Odyssey hook
- *Scissors
- *Yarn needle
- *Tape measure

Laid flat, no blocking, not including tassels: 10.5″ x 8″
Stitch Abbreviations
- ch(s) – Chain(s)
- sc – Single Crochet
- dc – Double Crochet
- sk – Skip
- chsp -Chain Space
- st(s) – Stitch(es)
Pattern Notes
- US Terminology
- Pattern is worked in rows
- All beginning ch1 & 2 do NOT count as a stitch
- Pattern is worked in multiples of 12 + 4
- You can adjust size by adding or subtracting rows for length
Crochet Plant Mat Pattern
The Pattern
Ch 28
Row 1: Sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, sc in each ch across, ch2, turn (27).
Row 2: Dc in the first 4 sts, sk 2 sts, 5 dc in the next st, ch 2, sk 4 sts, dc in the next 5 sts, sk 2 sts, 5 dc in the next st, ch2, sk 4 sts, dc in last 4 sts, ch2, turn (23).
Row 3: Dc in the first 4 sts, sk chsp, 5 dc in the next st, ch 2, sk 4 sts, dc in the next 5 sts, sk chsp, 5 dc in the next st, ch 2, sk 4 sts, dc in the last 4 sts, ch2, turn (23).
Row 4 – 17: Repeat Row 3; ch1 at the end of row 17.
Row 18: Sc in the first 4 sts, 2 sc in the chsp, sc in the next 10 sts, 2 sc in the chsp, sc in the last 9 sts, tie off (27).
TASSELS
Cut 108 pieces of yarn approximately 10″ long or so. Add 2 strands to each stitch on both ends of the Mat. Trim to desired length. You can use more or less strands for your preferred finished look.
Weave in all ends, block if desired, and you’re done!
