About The Comfort Beanie
This year I chose to do all Cancers for the Crochet Cancer Challenge and chose a lovely lavender/purple yarn.
I wanted to focus on everything this year. So I wanted to design a quick and simple pattern that would be an easy quick make for all sizes, all charities, and all skill levels.

Crochet Charity Hat Pattern Information
Materials
- Approx. 115 – 140 yards of #4 worsted weight yarn. I used Bernat Super Value in Lavender
- 5.0mm crochet hook, or hook to obtain gauge. I used my *Furls Odyssey
- *Scissors
- *Yarn needle
- *Tape measure

7 sts x 5 rows = 2″ Gauge uses hhdc

Stitch Abbreviations
- ch(s) – Chain(s)
- hdc – Half Double Crochet
- hhdc – Herringbone Half Double Crochet
- st(s) – Stitch(es)
- slst – Slip Stitch
- Rnd (s)- Round(s)
Pattern Notes
- US Terminology
- All beginning ch1 do not count as a stitch
- Hat is worked top down
- You can adjust the height of the hat by adding or subtracting the number of rounds in the repeat section
- It is most important to reach measurement then round count. If you do not match round counts for the correct measurements do more or less rounds to meet the correct size. Follow the same increase sequence if you need to add more increase rounds

Comfort Charity Hat
The Pattern
Adult small
Magic Circle, ch1.
Rnd 1: Hdc 8 into the magic circle, slst to the top of the first st to join, ch1 (8).
Rnd 2: 2 Hdc each st around, slst to the top of the first st to join, ch1 (16).
Rnd 3: *Hhdc in the first st, 2 hhdc in the next*, repeat around, slst to the top of the first st to join, ch1, TURN (24).
Rnd 4: *Hhdc in the first st, hhdc in the next st, 2 hhdc in the next*, repeat around, slst to the top of the first st to join, ch1, TURN (32).
Rnd 5: *Hhdc in the first st, hhdc in the next 2 sts, 2 hhdc in the next*, repeat around, slst to the top of the first st to join, ch1, TURN (40).
Rnd 6: *Hhdc in the first st, hhdc in the next 3 sts, 2 hhdc in the next*, repeat around, slst to the top of the first st to join, ch1, TURN (48).
Rnd 7: *Hhdc in the first st, hhdc in the next 4 sts, 2 hhdc in the next*, repeat around, slst to the top of the first st to join, ch1, TURN (56).
Rnd 8: *Hhdc in the first st, hhdc in the next 5 sts, 2 hhdc in the next*, repeat around, slst to the top of the first st to join, ch1, TURN (64).
Rnd 9 – 19: Hhdc in each st around, slst to the top of the first st to join, ch1, TURN (64).
Rnd 20: Hdc in each st around, slst to the top of the first st to join, tie off (64).
With long tail and yarn needle weave in all ends, and you’re done!!
All Set!!!
