Simplicity With A Twist

The Espresso-ly Quick Cup Cozy uses simple stitches with a twist to give it great texture and a fun look.

8 rows x 7 sts = 2″ square Patten for gauge: yusc

Size

Finished dimensions laid flat: 4″ wide across top x 3″ high

Stitch Abbreviations

  • ch(s) – Chain(s)
  • sc- Single Crochet
  • yusc – Yarn Under Single Crochet
  • dc – Double Crochet
  • slst – Slip Stitch
  • st(s) – Stitch(es)
  • sk – Skip

Pattern Notes

  • US Terminology
  • All beginning ch1 and ch2 of each round  do not count as a stitch
  • This pattern uses a yarn under single crochet, more information available here
  • Pattern is worked in the round
  • To make it taller, continue with the repeat rounds until before doing the final round, to desires height.

Special Stitches

Yarn Under Single Crochet (yusc): For this technique when you insert your hook to draw up a loop, you will yarn under, instead of yarn over.

The Pattern

Ch 29

Join ch together with a slst being careful not to twist the chain, ch1.

Rnd 1: Sc in the first ch after the join, sc in each st around, join with sl st to first sc, ch1 (28).

Rnd 2: Yusc in each st around, join with sl st to first sc, ch1 (28).

Rnd 3-9: Repeat round 2. After round 9, ch2.

Rnd 10: Sk 1st st, *dc next 3 sts, going in front of the 3 dc just made, dc into the skipped st, sk next st*, repeat around, join with sl st to  the top of the ch2, tie off  (28).

Weave in all ends, and you’re done!
