Quick Ear Warmer Crochet Pattern

The Embry Ear Warmer is a light weight ear warmer perfect for those transitional temps. The linked stitches gives it a nice and snug feel and dense fabric.

The pattern is worked in rows and made with two pieces that are seamed together with the crossover for a unique style.

As part of the 2022 Crochet Foundry Blog Hop I have been gifted *Furls Wander yarn for this designs. You may know this is not my first time using Wander yarn. It has a soft and light feel with a touch of pretty sheen!

Embry Crochet Ear Warmer Pattern

Materials

• Approx. 100 yards of #4 worsted weight yarn (adult small size). I used *Furls Wander in Aurora
• US size H/8 – 5.0mm crochet hook. I used my *Furls Odyssey Hook
• *Scissors
• *Yarn needle
• *Tape measure

9 sts x 8 rows = 2″ square Patten for gauge: Lhdc

Stitch Abbreviations

• ch(s) – Chain(s)
• hdc – Half Double Crochet
• MLhdc – Modified Linked Half Double Crochet
• st(s) – Stitch(es)

Pattern Notes

• US Terminology
• All beginning ch1 do not count as a stitch
• Ear warmer is work in two pieces then seamed together
• To adjust width, continue with row repeats until desired size. To adjust circumference (length) use any multiple + 1

Special Stitches

Modified Linked Half double Crochet (MLhdc): Hdc into the first stitch, *insert hook into single diagonal thread at left-hand side of previous stitch, insert hook into next stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop (3 loops on hook), Yarn over, pull through all 3 loops on your hook*. Repeat from *_* across.

Ear Warmer Crochet Pattern

Adult small/medium Best fit for 20″-22″ head circumference

MAKE 2

Ch 76

Row 1: Hdc in the second ch from the hook, MLhdc in each remaining ch, ch1, turn (75).

Row 2: Hdc in the first st, MLhdc in each remaining st, ch1, turn (75).

Row 3 – 8: Repeat row 2. At the end of row 8, tie off leaving a long tail for seaming (75).

Once you have made 2, seam together lengthwise about halfway, approx. 37 sts.

Criss cross the split ends over each other and seam at the opposite end to form the ear warmer.

Weave in all ends, and you’re done!

All Set!!!
