Easy Crochet Cowl Pattern
The Make It Quick Cowl is a great stash busting pattern for using Homespun Yarn. It is a quick and easy make, great for gifting or as a light addition to your wardrobe Fall through Spring.
If you find Homespun yarn a bit intimidating or have had trouble working with it, this pattern makes it easy using wide stitches, so you never have to guess where your hook goes.
*Lion Brand Homespun yarn is a thick, soft and textured yarn with gorgeous colour ways available. I decided on this yarn to show it doesn’t have to be difficult to work with when you have the right pattern!

- ch(s) – Chain(s)
- hdc – Half Double Crochet

- st(s) – Stitch(es)
Pattern Notes
- US Terminology
- All ch2 DO NOT count as a stitch
- You may add or subtract rows to adjust length
- *__* denotes repeat sequence
TIP for working into the starting chain with Homespun Yarn:
After you make the starting chain, it’s super helpful (and what I always like to do) to go through each ch st and open it up a bit with your finger, it helps make the chs much easier to see!

The Pattern
Ch 20
Row 1: hdc in the 2nd ch from the hook, *ch1, sk one ch, hdc in the next ch* repeat across, ch2, turn (10 hdc).
Row 2 – 35 (or desired length): hdc in the first chsp, *ch1, hdc in the next chsp*, repeat across until turn chain, hdc in between the last hdc of the previous row and the turn ch, ch2, turn (10 hdc).
After final row, tie off, leaving long tail to sew ends together.
Joining the ends:
Being careful not to twist, bring the ends together, using long tail to whip stitch together.
Alternatively, you can NOT tie off, and slst the ends together instead.
Weave in all ends, turn cowl so the seam is inside, and you’re done!
