What Is A Bonding Square
Bonding Squares are small squares made in pairs and are used in the NICU to encourage bonding of mom and baby while baby is in the NICU.
One square is kept with mom and one placed with Baby. This helps mom and baby feel close to each other through sent. There are also several other benefits to bonding squares I found out about while researching that just amazed me!
Crochet Bonding Square Free Pattern
When designing this pattern for bonding squares I wanted to make sure they were soft, cute, and textured.
I love the Alpine Stitch and chose to use it because it has such great texture and design. I decided to use a second colour for the border to also give it a splash of cuteness!
I chose to use *Lion Brand Feels Like Butta yarn because it is just so, soooo soft and comes in gorgeous colours. It is also on the approved yarn list from Knots of Love.

The Tester Pictures
My testers had some cute colour pics for their squares!
Some of the yarns they used included: Yarn Bee’s Yarn ID, Alize wool + acrylic, and Stylecraft Aran.
