Worked in rows instead of the round gives it more stretch as well, and one size will will fit a variety of cups.

Kolby Cup Cozy

Materials

• Approx. 18-25 yards of #6 super bulky weight yarn. I used *Bernat Softee Chunky
• 7.0mm crochet hook. I used *Furls Streamline Swirls
• *Scissors
• *Yarn needle
• *Tape measure

5 stitches x  3 rows = 2″ Pattern for gauge- hdcblo

Size

Finished dimensions laid flat, un-stretched Before seaming: 9.5″ long x 3.5″ high After seaming: 4.5″ long x 3.5″ high Fits standard large cup

Stitch Abbreviations

• ch – Chain
• hdc – Half Double Crochet
• hdcblo – Half Double Crochet Back Loop Only
• st(s) – Stitch(es)

Pattern Notes

• US Terminology
• All beginning ch1 do not count as a stitch
• Pattern is worked in rows then seamed together
• To adjust size, starting chain is any amount of sts +1; continue row repeat until desired length for circumference of cup

Kolby Cup Cozy

The Pattern

Ch9

Row 1: Hdc in the second ch from the hook, and each ch across, ch1, turn (8).

Row 2-12: Hdc in the first st, hdcblo in the next 6 sts, hdc in the last st, ch1, turn (8).

Row 13: Hdc in the first st, hdcblo in the next 6 sts, hdc in the last st, tie off leaving long tail to seam closed (8).

Seaming closed: Using your long tail, fold the cozy holding the two short sides together, whip stitch across to seam side closed.

Weave in all ends, and you’re done!!
